Ham was the popular filling, but a mushrooms-and-spinach version was available for those seeking a vegetarian option. For chicken fans, "La ferme Galette" combines sauteed chicken in a filling with mushrooms, Emmental cheese, parsley and garlic. A smoked salmon with spinach-and-egg combination is also available.

Message in a bottle

As we enjoyed the super soft and healthy buckwheat pancakes, we scanned the overwhelming desserts section. A salted butter and caramel crepe with strawberry sauce and a chocolate crepe, each served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, tasted heavenly. We'll have to come back to try the fruit crepes - choices include banana and apple as well as crepes filled with orange, raspberry and apricot jams. Sounds like bliss!
