Restaurant awakens your senses

By Thai standards, this is a relatively mild curry in terms of spiciness but the one served at Black Ginger is super rich and satisfying. Although we are stuffed by the time we finish the last drop of curry, there is always room for dessert.

We attribute it to the conducive and relaxing ambience of the restaurant. The Black Ginger signature dessert (THB150) consists of tiny tender dumplings and young coconut meat served in fresh coconut milk.

Truly signature, the warm dessert gives a perfect sweet ending to the sumptuous meal.

We also order Go Sui or rice cake (THB150), six sweet, soft, bouncy and chewy jelly-like steam cake dusted with brown sugar and juicy grated coconut presented in bite size.

Other unique Thai dishes are waiting to be discovered in Black Ginger. We had a truly memorable time and look forward to returning again. And I will never forget the wine we drank, not only because it is very smooth and easy to drink, but also because of its name.

From South Africa, it is called Goats Do Roam, a light Chenin Blanc wine that pairs very well with the strong flavors of Thai cuisine.
