Sofitel Wanda Beijing opens Shandong restaurant

Saturday saw the grand opening of Sofitel Wanda Beijing's Shandong restaurant Quyan, which has a magnificent 258-square-meter dining hall and 11 spacious private rooms. Lu cuisine, originating from Shandong province, is one of China's eight cuisines since the Song Dynasty (AD 420-479), and is regarded as the mother of northern Chinese cuisine.

Quyan not only offers the finest classic Lu dishes, such as braised sea cucumber and large intestines in brown sauce, it also offers casual Shandong snacks, which is a rare find in Beijing's hotels.

If you are a dim sum lover, try the restaurant's dim sum lunch menu (128 yuan/$18 per person, subject to service charge), which offers unlimited traditional Shandong and Cantonese dim sum, various snacks and noodles from Sichuan and Hunan provinces.
