A 1,000-person delegation from central China's Hubei province left Taiwan Monday after a visit that a top official from the province said enhanced exchanges and cooperation between Hubei and Taiwan.
Luo Qingquan, secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the agriculture and fishery sectors and in the religious, cultural and educational fields.
As Hubei has a wealth of agricultural products, Taiwan's know-how in processing agricultural goods could have a promising niche in Hubei, Luo said at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport after an eight-day visit.
The delegation placed more than $500 million in orders for more than 30 types of products during the visit.
Luo said the delegation attended more than 40 activities during the visit, which helped enhance mutual understanding and exchanges.
