Apple suffers from price mistake in Taiwan

2010-07-26 16:36

The price of Apple Inc's Mac Mini with 8GB DRAM was "adjusted" to NT$19,900 ($619) from the original price of NT$47,710, its official website showed, and it was later proved to be a mistake, the Beijing Youth News reported Monday.

But before the website restored the original price, the appealing price had already attracted about 200,000 customers in Taiwan to place orders.

Apple's customer service later sent e-mails to customers explaining that the price adjustment was a mistake and that customers need to pay the full price to get the products.

But Li Mei, a person related to the issue, said once the customers have paid, the deal has to be finished. If Apple refuses to ship the products, they may face a lawsuit, just like Dell did a year ago.
