BEIJING - Chinese stocks fell 2.03 percent on Wednesday dampened by weak heavyweights.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,596.58, down 53.73 points, or 2.03 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index shed 250.25 points, or 2.23 percent, to end at 10,963.99.
Combined turnover rose to 208 billion yuan ($30.59 billion) from 207.7 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
