The People's Bank of China (PBOC), China's central bank, opened its second-generation online banking services Monday, enabling customers to transfer money among accounts at different commercial banks.
But the report said rates for inter-bank transfers are still undecided. Commercial banks now have different rates for inter-bank transfers.
The newly launched system is open to enterprise clients but not to individual customers at present.
Now only four cities -- Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Shenzhen -- have access to the new system, but more cities will be added.
