MACAO - Macao's consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 29.1 percent quarter-on-quarter to 10,853 tons in the fourth quarter of last year, according to the figures released on Tuesday by Macao's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Imports of LPG increased by 38.5 percent from the previous quarter to 10,644 tons, with the average price of imports registering an increase of 11.3 percent, the DSEC figures indicated.
For the whole year of 2010, imports (39,987 tons) and consumption (40,744 tons) of LPG went up by 1.1 percent and 2.5 percent respectively year-on-year, of which consumption by the business sector (26,956 tons) increased by 10.1 percent, the figure also said.
The average price of bottled LPG for the whole year of 2010 increased by 17.9 percent, according to the DSEC.
