A Chinese fishing boat collided twice with Japanese patrol vessels Tuesday near the Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported.
The first collision happened at 9:15 am (0115 GMT) in waters north of unpopulated Diaoyu islets, known as Senkaku in Japanese. About 40 minutes later, the Chinese ship collided with another of the Japanese patrol vessels.
No injuries were reported from the two separate collisions. It was unclear if the Chinese ship was damaged.
The Japanese coast guard has boarded the fishing boat to investigate, China's Global Times reported.
