During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the regional Education Department planned to invest up to 1 billion yuan in providing digital facilities for schools at all levels across southwest China's Tibet autonomous region.
According to the local educational digitalization plan, multimedia education will be gradually realized in all primary and middle schools as well as kindergartens in the region.
Besides, teachers and students in rural and remote areas will also benefit from sharing premier educational resources through educational digitalization and improved utilization of distance education.
In the past five years, Tibet has altogether built 133 computerized classrooms and about 1000 receiving spots for satellite distance education, as reported.
