IT professionals and business leaders will get together to discuss "green growth powered by software" at the Eighth China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS), which will be held from June 22 to 25 in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province.

Being composed of major activities such as exhibition, meetings, and forums, this year's CISIS will center on the theme of "green," said Liu Dechun, an official with the organizing committee, at a news briefing on Thursday.

The main forum, the International Software and Information Services Forum and Entrepreneurs Summit, will focus on how to build a green IT sector.

The sub-sessions will discuss the utilization of information technologies to help traditional industries improve efficiency, save energy, and reduce emission. Meanwhile, new products and solutions from well-known IT companies will be displayed at the exhibition.

As the only state-level IT fair in China, CISIS is influential in the information industry.

It attracts more than 700 exhibitors and 3,000 foreign businessmen from at least 20 countries and regions.

In addition, 35 exhibition delegations and 50 visiting delegations from domestic provinces and cities will attend the fair, Liu said.

"CISIS has always been enterprises-oriented. This is the key factor for it to retain its appeal over the years," said Dai Yulin, secretary-general of the organizing committee and vice mayor of Dalian.

Dai said the organizing committee aims to provide services for foreign companies that intend to do business in China and Chinese companies that expect to take orders from overseas customers.

The government also will provide favorable policies and service to support the development of IT companies.
