Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation earned a top-100 spot on the "2011 Outstanding Enterprises in Social Responsibility in China" list during the

2011 China Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Annual Conference, which recently concluded in Beijing. It is the second consecutive time Eaton has made the exclusive list.

The selection of top-100 companies with the best corporate CSR practices underwent a strict evaluation process, which took four months to complete by a jury panel comprised of leading experts, scholars and practitioners in corporate social responsibility in China. Only 100 of the initial 5,000 nominated companies made into the final list.

The top-20 Chinese and foreign companies, including Eaton, Coco-Cola, Walmart, Haier and State Grid, were also granted the "2011 Special Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility."

"We are honored to accept the award and to participate in the high-level discussion on corporate social responsibility and sustainability that have risen to the top of the agenda for governments and businesses in China and across the world,” said Curt Hutchins, president of Eaton in Asia Pacific."

Eaton has always believed in doing business right and sustainability is a core part of this mission. More importantly, our commitment to sustainability is woven into the fabric of our culture in the past 100 years.”

The 2011 China CSR Annual Forum was jointly held by China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI) and China Forum of Environmental Journalists (CFEG), with the theme of "Corporate Responsibility Strategy and Innovation." Hutchins spoke at the forum on the topic of sustainability and innovation.
