HONG KONG - A magnitude-6.1 earthquake hit Tonga around 0852 GMT on Saturday, said the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter was monitored at 17.27 degrees south latitude and 174 degrees west longitude with the depth of 37.1 km.
