MEXICO CITY -- Six women died and two others went missing in an overnight department store fire in the northern Mexican state of Sinaloa, Mexican broadcaster Milenio reported Wednesday.
Those who died in the fire were workers responsible for inventory and two other women suspected to have been in the building remain missing, Adan Shinagawa, who heads the Culiacan fire department, told Milenio.
More than 80 firefighters were deployed to put out the flames and about 15 firefighters suffered smoke inhalation during rescue efforts.
