Shanghai Volkswagen VW brand plans to showcase its most popular models at Auto Shanghai, which is to be held from April 21 to 29.

The brand's top sellers will be on display in the W5 E1 exhibition hall of the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center.

New Lavida, is an example of the company's successful marketing campaign targeted at ordinary Chinese customers.

Marketed toward people on a limited budget, the Lavida offers high value relative to its cost, according to the company. It is economical for daily commuting and spacious enough to take the whole family on a trip to the suburbs on weekends.

The company will also exhibit New Santana, which has long been an iconic fixture in China's auto market. This latest incarnation of the classic model promises to remind its loyal customers of why they fell in love with it in the first place, according to the company.

With a refined look, ample legroom and a spacious cabin, the Passat leads China's mid-sized auto segment. Offering affordable luxury, the latest edition is sure to win over new consumers with an array of added features, according to the company.

Passat BlueMotion, which provides an improved driving experience, will also be on display.

In addition to the high-end urban SUV Tiguan, 2013 Touran Cross Polo and the Polo GTI will stun attendees of the expo with their impressive new designs.

Its sophisticated portfolio leaves little doubt as to the reason for Shanghai Volkswagen's incredible sales performance, according to the company.

Sales by Shanghai Volkswagen surpassed the 400,000-unit mark in the first quarter of this year, the company announced recently.

It sold nearly 409,000 units in China during that period, an increase of 27.8 percent from a year earlier. In March alone, it delivered nearly 132,000 units, up 23.6 percent from the same period last year.

Its Volkswagen lineup sold nearly 349,000 units in the first three months of this year, an increase of 32.6 percent over the same period of the previous year.

New Lavida is loved by many urban white-collar workers and young middle-class couples for its quality and affordability. Monthly sales of the model hit 40,000 units recently, setting a new record for the company for most sales of an individual model in a month.

In addition, the New Santana, which went on sale at the end of last year, broke the 30,000-unit benchmark within four months.

Shanghai Volkswagen has a loyal base of customers built through a long history of consistent quality and reliability coupled with the strong German tradition of automotive craftsmanship and a deep understanding of the Chinese market.

Attendees to the exhibition will have the chance to have a hands-on experience with each member of the automaker's portfolio and see a preview of its exploration into future technologies.
