Dolce & Gabbana goes red
Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana recently launched a limited-edition collection tailored for the Chinese New Year. Covered in the symbolic color of China, red, the collection offers womenswear and children's wear with brand staples like lace, brocades and traditional foulard prints. There are also watches and eyewear. Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who visited China numerous times in the past few years, expressed their love and passion for the Chinese culture in the company newsletter.
Star couple poses for H & M
Chinese actress Zhou Xun and her husband American actor Archie Kao modeled for H & M's Chinese New Year collection. The women's collection fuses structured tops with short skirts while the men's line offers shirts, sweaters and jeans. Both lines have Chinese red as the main color. The collection will be out in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore on Jan 29. Renowned Swedish illustrator Beata Boucht created special drawings for the festival, which will be seen in all H & M stores and on the company's shopping bags during the holiday.
Sheep from Karl Lagerfield
Legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has drawn a special sketch of a sheep, wishing happiness, prosperity and longevity to his Chinese fans for the Year of the Sheep. The illustration, colored in gray, red and blue, will also be a highlight in a video and a campaign during the festival.
Piaget unveils sheep watch
Swiss luxury watchmaker Piaget, who has been designing commemorative items for the Chinese New Year since 2012, has presented a sheep-themed watch for this season. The watch is designed by renowned enamelist Anita Porchet in tones of gray, black and white. Only 38 were made, and they will be exclusively sold in Piaget stores.
