Lindsey an ambassador for Pyeongchang
South Korean Olympic organizers have named US Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn as an honorary ambassador for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
Pyeongchang's organizing committee said on Wednesday Vonn is the first foreign individual it has appointed for the role. She joins a list of high-profile South Korean sports stars such as former Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na and Texas Rangers outfielder Choo Shin-soo.
Vonn, 30, an Olympic gold medalist and the all-time wins leader in women's World Cup Alpine skiing, missed the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, nursing a knee injury. Vonn recently announced she had ended her relationship of nearly three years with Tiger Woods.
