A moment in time: Change of clothes
Changes in the Chinese clothing market show the improved livelihood of its people. At the Beijing Exhibition Center in 1983, consumers enthusiastically bought cloth from sellers, as seen in the photo. However, 30 years later, major retailers had become the main vendors of clothes, as shown in the 2013 photo. The difference between the short supplies of the 1980s and the adequate production today proves that Chinese no longer worry about basic supplies.
