TAO Dance Theater - NCPA Dance Festival 2015

TAO is the second Chinese modern dance company after Guangdong Modern Dance Company in 1997 to be invited to the American Dance Festival to perform, and the first Chinese company to be invited to be in-residence for the 6-week festival. In 2012, TAO was invited to perform at Lincoln Center Festival, and was the first Chinese modern dance company invited to perform in the Spring Dance Festival at Sydney Opera House. TAO continues to tour internationally to major venues and festivals, including "Novell Dance Series" in Taipei, invited by renowned Asian choreographer Lin Hwai-Min.

War Horse in Beijing

War Horse is a play based on the book of the same name by children's writer Michael Morpurgo, adapted for stage by Nick Stafford. Originally Morpurgo thought they must be mad to try to make a play from his best-selling 1982 novel; nonetheless, the play was a success. The play's West End and Broadway productions are directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris; it features life-size horse puppets by the Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa, with "horse choreography" by Toby Sedgwick.

The World of Hwang Young-sung

The exhibition will feature Chinese poetry, one of Hwang Young-sung's latest series, together with a selection of works he has been working on since 2000. Upon first sight, these works may strike viewers as vivid and brisk color blocks. Puppet Musical from Hometown of Music - The Sound of Music

The original Broadway production, starring Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel, opened on Nov 16, 1959. This production was a five time winner at the 14th Tony Awards, out of nine nominations.
