Tibet promotes exchanges with Estonia
A cultural exchange delegation from the Tibet autonomous region wrapped up a three-day visit to Estonia on Tuesday that boosted exchanges with the Baltic country.
Jinmeiwangcuo, head of the delegation and the director of the news office of the regional government, said that during its stay in Estonia the delegation met with parliament members, government officials, experts and scholars.
He said that from the delegation the Estonian representatives learned about Tibet's development, inheritance and the preservation of its ethnic culture, as well as freedom of religion.
The delegation also talked about the reincarnation system of living Buddhas, industrial development, income increases for farmers and herdsmen, the protection of the ecological environment and other issues.
Mailis Reps, chairman of the Estonia-China parliamentary group in Estonia's parliament, expressed her keen interest in Tibet's development and her wish to visit Tibet.
Officials from the Estonian Ministry of Culture held in-depth discussions with the delegation about cultural exchanges in the coming five years.
The delegation arrived in Estonia on Sunday after visiting the Czech Republic and will later visit Latvia.
