A wannabe bike thief proved little challenge for a security guard in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, as he was too fat to run.

The crook, who was in his 30s, 170 cm tall and weighed more than 90 kg, had to abandon his plans and flee when he was spotted by the guard, surnamed Zhang, on a housing estate at about 1 pm.

But he was caught after running just 10 m when he stopped to get his breath back.
