Old papers are treasure for 'king of clippings'
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-02-20 16:25 A man in Heshan, Guangdong province, has been dubbed the "king of clippings", for his collection of newspaper clips he's collected over an eight-year period. His special newspaper clippings include news about tea culture, beauty, life, people and entertainment. He has more than 150 albums of such clips. Lei Shantong, 53, also has clips about the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York. Lei said the newspaper clippings help him learn more and add color to his life. Lei, who is a calligrapher, lends his collections to his friends and neighbors, and they often supply him with old newspapers in return. (www.chinanews.com.cn) |
