Stunning Hong Kong model AngelaBaby has been driven to tears by a string of media reports that she has had cosmetic enhancements, including a face lift, teeth correction, nose job, double-fold eyelid surgery, cheekbone reduction, chin surgery and more. If true, AngelaBaby is practically bionic.
"Evidence" provided for the allegations include a host of before and after shots that show AngelaBaby used to have "sausage lips" but these are now thin, a fat face that has slimmed, narrow eyes that have magically become round, and so on. AngelaBaby has imaginatively denied the rumors.
"Those people keep harping on about the rumors as if my whole face is fake. That old photo was taken when I was wearing braces so my face looked swollen. Moreover, the camera angle wasn't good," she told one publication.
She also said that she would get medical proof that she was "all woman" and not a collection of parts.
So, from someone who is a model to wannabe Sister Phoenix. No one is accusing her of having had surgical enhancements. If she did, the thinking is, it was a terrible job.
The beauty-challenged Phoenix has fallen foul of the government after appearing with Sister Lotus and Japanese adult video model Sola Aoi at a promotional event last month in Shanghai for an online game.
As a result, at a recent State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) press conference a spokesman singled out Phoenix for being "vulgar" and said TV programs or online video game companies that feature her will face sanctions.
Phoenix told Southern Metropolis that SARFT should have warned her in advance and suggested the "ban" infringed her rights.
Pop idol Han Geng, formerly a member of the South Korean boy band Super Junior, has problems of a different kind. He's so in-demand that he can afford to turn down promotional events.
The only Chinese member of Super Junior was supposed to appear on the Beijing TV program Big Birthday Party that was being shot at 2 pm earlier this week. He arrived 40 minutes late but told organizers he was too busy tweeting to go on stage.
The program host Huang Xiaolei said: "It was so hot we prepared medicine and water for everyone, but even so some fans fainted waiting for Han."
Entertainer Niu Mengmeng, said to be Han's girlfriend, did go on stage to lead a chorus for Han's "birthday celebration", but then Han's manager told organizers he would not participate in the program and refused to give a reason.
Huang said Han was "shameless" and claimed his producer and the star's fans started crying because of Han's no-show.
Finally, it's rumored singer-actress Karen Mok has a new man in her life, mainland music producer Zhang Yadong.
Speaking to Guangzhou Daily, Zhang's significant other, Qu Ying said: "It's ridiculous. I am very angry. I don't want the media to keep on writing wrong reports. (Zhang) is a talented musician, not a celebrity. He is quiet and shy and these rumors are really bad news for him."
Qu said Mok was her friend and insisted she and Zhang would be marrying soon.
We'll see.
