Japanese play on futility of love
Memories of Matsuko is the Chinese version of a play adapted from the novel of the same title by Japanese writer Muneki Yamada.
It tells the story of Matsuko, a kind-hearted woman whose life reads like a series of troubles - from her neglected childhood, to relationships with abusive men, and a futile search for true love.
