Folk Painter draws long scroll of rabbit to greet Chinese New Year
With only a couple of days left before the big day, preparations for the Chinese New Year continue all around the country. In central China's Wuhan City, a 63-year-old folk artist sends his new year greetings using paint and brush. Jiang Xianxiao draws a long scroll featuring the zodiac star of the coming year.

Jiang Xianxiao, Folk Painter, said, "Right from the beginning of last year, I started to paint the long ribbon. We Chinese favor the numbers 6 and 8, meaning good luck and fortune, so I painted 168 rabbits as a New Year gift to my friends and neighbors."
Jiang's work took one year to finish, but he was not the only one to prepare such a present. His 7-year-old grand-daughter spent her whole summer vacation drawing 168 rabbits on another 20-meter ribbon.
Their neighbors also joined in on the fun, displaying their artistic talents by producing paper-cut rabbits.
With full excitement and pleasure, they said happy new year to each other, wishing a good beginning in the year of the Rabbit.
