China's TV cartoon production sees sharp rise
China's indigenously produced television cartoons rose 28 percent last year to total 220,530 minutes, according to the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).
Domestic producers made a total of 385 TV cartoon programs in 2010, said a statement on the SARFT website Tuesday.
China's national-level cartoon industry bases made 269 TV cartoons that amounted to 172,689 minutes or 78.3 percent of the country's annual production.
Local producers are increasingly active in animated television program production thanks to government policies introduced in recent years to boost the industry's development, the statement said.
