Universities come together to boost documentary making

"Power of Image, Let Documentaries Enter Universities", a project aimed at cultivating talents in the documentary film business, was launched in Beijing on Sept 24.

Jointly initiated by Chinese Collegial Association For Visual Art (CCAVA) and CCTV-9, the documentary channel, the project brought together more than 80 universities from all around the country to explore the establishment of camps to help hone documentary filmmaking skills.

According to Liu Wen, director of CCTV-9, a series of symposiums on, and exhibitions of, non-fiction programs will also be held on campus.
