A cultural project entitled Embracing Classical Art started on Dec 21 at the gallery of the International Chinese Training Center affiliated with Beijing University of International Business and Economics.
It includes an exhibition of Chinese landscape paintings that ran through Dec 24, lectures on Chinese classical art appreciation and a workshop for viewers to try their hands at ink landscape painting. There will also be a seminar on the development of modern Chinese art, co-sponsored by Zhang Zhimin Art Studio of China National Painting Academy and the university.
The cultural program, expected to become an annual event, "will act as a platform to promote better understanding and appreciation of Chinese arts and culture for international students studying Chinese language at the university", training center director Wang Ling says.
