The World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF)’s two-day tourism summit was held in Beijing last week. Franco D'Alfonso, deputy mayor Milan in Italy, said he felt grateful to Beijing for taking the lead to build a platform where cities can communicate.
"It is always important to exchange information, and impressions of the cities", he said. "Tourism is now the first important economic sector for many countries and cities."
In his eyes, Milan is one of the most friendly cities for Chinese tourists, with some city residents of Chinese origin, a China town and city maps and guides printed in Chinese.
