China's Southern tourist resort Hainan province has been declared as a World Longevity Island by the International Expert Committee on Population Aging and Longevity (ISCPAL) on Sep 25,2014. As people are struggling to keep pace with today's fast-paced modern lifestyle, living beyond 100 years old seems to be a dream out of reach for many, but there are places in the world where time treats people well and aging takes a slower process than in other places. When you have time, maybe you can travel to those places to seek the "secret therapy" or at least, take these places into consideration when you plan your life after retirement.

A couple of localities in Hainan had already been branded as "Longevity Cities" before the island was honored, including Chengmai county, which is located in Northwest Hainan. Chengmai was honored as the "longevity hometown" of China and the world respectively in 2009 and 2012.[Photo/IC]
