Wear protective medical clothing if necessary

While it's best to avoid infected patients, if you choose to care for an ill person in your home or in a healthcare, the use of extreme caution is necessary. Scientists recommended that people caring for Ebola patients wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (gloves, impermeable gown, boots/closed shoes with overshoes, mask and eye protection for splashes) and properly dispose of the PPE after use.

WHO does not recommend home care and strongly advises individuals and their family members to seek professional care in a treatment center.
