Everyday beauty captured in photos
"Beauty is everywhere. It is not that she is lacking to our eyes, but our eyes fail to perceive her," said French artist Augeuste Rodin. This famous quote is a truth for Shen Rongrong, a freelance and amateur photographer in Shanghai, who is keen to capture beauty in everyday life.
A fallen leaf, a half dried lemon, a piece of rusted iron sheet and many other daily things that are ignored by most people, take on a special charm when viewed through Shen's camera lens. Under Shen's gaze, these ordinary items become beautiful, reative works.
She captures her images with an iPhone and says it involves minimal technique.
"I think the capability of perceiving and appreciating beauty is much more important. The instant you feel the beauty is invaluable, even though you can not paint her or photograph her," she says. Behind her works there are beautiful stories and memories.
