Greece is the word

Eat Beat

The Minzu Hotel seems to be launching a new food festival every time we turn around. Winding down this week at the hotel's Coffee Mill restaurant is the Greek Festival, with plenty of amazingly light mousska and zesty feta-studded salad from Athens-based chef Christos Amantos. Greek wine? Don't mind if we do. Also ongoing (through June 15) is an Anhui food fest in the hotel's Chinese restaurant; after a short break, a Sri Lanka chef arrives to celebrate that country's cuisine beginning on July 30.

Greek Festival through June 5. No 51 Fuxingmennei Street, Xicheng district. 010-6601-4466, Ext 163/162.

Tastes of Brazil

If you haven't explored Brazilian snacks and sweets, here's a fun way to do it-but dress the part. Sunday's annual Festa Junina of Brapeq is dubbed a "farmers party", so plaid shirts, straw hats and flowery dresses are the fashion of the day. Expect country music, dancing, games for kids and lucky draws. 50 yuan ($8) for adults and children over 4 years old.

3-7 pm on Sunday. French International School, 13 Sanlitun Dongsi Street, Chao-yang district.
