Artists of the year awarded

Artists Geng Jianyi and Hao Jinban received the Award of Art China in Beijing on Tuesday. The award ceremony was held in the Jianfu Garden of the Forbidden City. The jury included Eugene Wang, Jane DeBevoise, Karen Smith, Keith Wallace, L. David Joselit III and Zhu Qingsheng. Geng won Artist of the Year, and Hao won Young Artist of the Year. Wu Hong was Publisher of the Year for his book, Exhibition About Exhibition: Experimental Art in the 1990s. The annual award was launched by the Artron Art Group in 2007. Swiss watch brand Hubolt sponsored this year's event.

Totwoo launches new jewelry line

Chinese-Italian jewelry brand Totwoo recently released a new collection for men. Created by Italian designer Marco Dal Maso, the collection features bracelets and pendants made from silver and onyx. The jewelry is linked to an app that enables wearers of the jewelry to receive greetings sent over the phone.

Architect talks on housing project

Japanese architect Kengo Kuma recently delivered a lecture at Tsinghua University on his work, which fuses architecture with the environment. He also introduced his latest housing project, Alberni in Vancouver, which focuses on nature.

Top architecture prize presented

Chinese architect Zhou Kai and Malaysian architect Kenneth King Mun Yeang were jointly awarded the Liang Sicheng Architecture Award at a ceremony hosted by the Architectural Society of China in Beijing recently. The award is considered one of China's top honors for architects.

Embassy holds fashion event

The Swiss embassy recently held InnoFashion, an event celebrating designers from both Switzerland and China. Curated by Mode Suisse, an industry platform promoting collaboration between designers, schools and the textile industry, the event featured a catwalk show by seven Swiss and Chinese brands. They are Julian Zigerli, Yvy, Wuethrichfuerst, Akris, Wang Changrong, Roderic Wong and Pronounce. The event ended with Swiss brand Akris showcasing its 2017 spring/summer collection.
