“Third Month Fair” of the Buyi and Zhuang People

Date: March 29, 2009 (3rd of the third month by lunar calendar)

Venue: Duoyi River and Nine-Dragon Waterfalls of Luoping County, Qujing City; Phoenix Valley Scenic Area and Wulong Zhuang Town of Shizong County; some places of Wenshan Prefecture.

The grandest traditional festival of Buyis and Zhuangs in a year is the “Third Day of Third Month”, when Buyis and Zhuangs have various activities such as colorful rice dyeing, cloth weaving, antiphonal singing, water splashing, bamboo raft racing, God worship, water worship, bamboo pole dancing, bonfire evening gala and folk performance as well as large-scale performance.
