Swimwear to flatter your figure (Telegraph) Updated: 2006-07-05 14:55
There's nothing quite as soul-destroying as watching the summer's
to-die-for bikini shimmying along the beach on a taut and toned body that's the
antithesis of yours.
This woman doesn't have swimwear neuroses, nor does
she understand the concept of having to make do with the only style that fits.
And she certainly doesn't have to worry about making a swift dash from lounger
to pool when no one's looking.
There's no point sulking about that wasted gym membership, though, or your
contribution to the profits of Green & Black's. Even if you don't have a
beach body, your choice of swimwear can flatter your figure enormously.
Despite practically living in bikinis on holiday, very few of us devote as
much care as we should to finding the perfect style. Until now, it hasn't been
an easy task, but retailers are wising up to the bikini boom and are making it
easier for us to find a great fit.
Bikini dos and don'ts
Do remember that wearing bold prints on any area will only draw attention to
it. If you want to diminish your hips, wear plain bottoms with a printed top.
Don't wear tiny string bikinis if you have a big bust. Choose underwired or
halter-neck styles with wide, supportive straps.
