French luxury goods company Louis Vuitton lifts the veil this week on a new advertising campaign featuring six supermodels of the past 20 years designed to promote its spring-summer 2008 collection.

A film showing the making of the campaign featuring Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Natalia Vodianova, and others will be released on Dec 20 on Internet site www.style.com and on Vuitton's own website on Dec 28, Vuitton said in a statement.

A wider print campaign will follow next February.

Five of the models appeared in Vuitton's last catwalk show in Paris dressed as nurses, a theme designer Marc Jacobs said was inspired by the works of American artist Richard Prince.

Vuitton's head of communications is Antoine Arnault, 30, son of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton chairman and France's richest man, Bernard Arnault.

Asked by Journal Du Dimanche newspaper how much the campaign cost, Antoine Arnault was quoted as saying: "Fairly expensive".

According to the newspaper, LVMH spent nearly 47 million euros ($67.78 million) on ad campaigns in France in the first 10 months of the year, of which Vuitton accounted for a little over 9 million.

A company spokeswoman declined to confirm the figures which she said were not released by the company.
