German-born model Claudia Schiffer is known for her tumbling blonde locks.
But yesterday, she looked almost unrecognisable as she stepped out in a brunette bobbed Louise Brooks style wig at a photo-shoot with the kaiser of fashion - Karl Lagerfeld.
Claudia got dressed in a Twenties-themed outfit, complete with wig, for a photoshoot with the Chanel designer in New York's rejuvenated district, Harlem.
Claudia Schiffer abandoned her blonde locks for a new 20s style brunette bobbed hairdo, as the model was seen on a photoshoot in New York, with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld
But before her fans protest too much, the look was only temporary, as she was later seen leaving the shoot's location, in one of the Harlem's historic "brownstone" houses, with her flowing blonde locks back in place.
The 37-year-old mother of two has pared down her modelling work over recent years, but on occasion steps back into the spotlight for special jobs for the German designer who helms the French fashion house.
The pair were reunited last year after famously falling out during fashion's heroin chic phase.
Lagerfeld said at the time: "Claudia is part of another world, another fashion, another spirit, another time.
"It would not be easy for Claudia to change. She doesn't need to model any more."
And she hit back: "I am no great fan of the fact that nowadays you have to look like a junkie just to be cool."
