Three countries celebrate New Year
About 5,000 tourists from all over the world gathered at Fangchuan Scenic Spot in Hunchun, Jilin province — the only Chinese area bordering Russia and North Korea — to welcome the first sunrise of 2017 and pray for blessings in the year to come.
At 5:50 a.m., fireworks lit the sky of Hunchun, China; Khasansky Rayon, Russia; and Dooman, North Korea. The tourists appreciated the splendid scenery and wished a peaceful and happy new year as fireworks could be seen from three countries at once.
