A series of ice and snow activities including a winter camp for students was held recently to promote the tourism industry in Baishan, Jilin province, and contribute to the rise of Jilin's ice and snow industry.

Fusong Town in Baishan is located in the core of the Changbai Mountains and features unique ice and snow resources, which plays an important role in promoting the regional economic transformation and upgrade of the area.

To date, a series of international holiday resorts, an international hunting ground, and several scenic spots including Bailong Rime Scenic Spot, have been constructed and an ice and snow-led tourism industry has preliminarily formed, according to a staffer at the administrative committee of Fusong Town.

According to local government reports, the town welcomed more than 1.7 million trips and had 1.94 billion yuan ($280.71 million) in income in 2016. Ice and snow tourism in the town is developing rapidly and appears to be an effective path to prosperity.
