Jilin deputies summarized achievements in Jilin province and shared their successful experiences during group discussions from March 5 to 7.

Bao Yintai, a grassroots NPC deputy, offered her suggestions on agricultural supply-side structural reform.

The reform sounds rigid and hard to understand by ordinary people, but Bao explained the policy with lively stories that happened in farmers' daily lives.

"Rice produced in Songyuan (a city south of Changchun, the capital city of Jilin province) and the big-head fish in Chagan Lake (to the northeast of Jilin) are healthy and delicious," Bao said with pride.

The reasons behind the tasty food lie in the zero hazardous substance environment.

"Frogs are everywhere in the rice field in Songyuan, which best proves the cleanness of the cultivated water and soil," Bao explained.

In terms of the fish, she said water in Chagan Lake is alkaline with PH value of 8, which makes it impossible for bacteria to grow. The fish in Chagan Lake feed on micro-organisms to become an excellent all-natural food.
