Jilin business-people have made great contributions to their home province's economic development and are playing an increasingly important role in helping local products gain access to domestic and overseas markets, a senior Jilin official said on Sept 2.

On Sept 2, the 2nd World Jilin Entrepreneurs Convention was held in Changchun, capital of Jilin province.

Governor of Jilin Province Liu Guozhong hosted the opening ceremony. Xu Lejiang, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and Bayin Chaolu, secretary of the Jilin provincial committee of the CPC delivered speeches. Provincial CPPCC Vice-Chairman Huang Yanming was in attendance.

Bayin firstly expressed a warm welcome to all the Jilin entrepreneurs and guests.

He noted that the local government, in response to the strategy to revitalize the old industrial bases in China's northeast, over the past year has prioritized fostering a business-friendly environment for local entrepreneurs and encouraging them to "create new miracles" in their native province.

"We firmly believe that Jilin enterprises will establish a national, even global presence through our effort," Bayin added.
