Group services
Foreign tourist groups (two people and above) will be issued group visas so long as they have gained approval from tourist administration departments, registered at the Exit-Entry Department and provided name lists and travel plans. Visas from ambassadors are no longer necessary.
As for Jilin residents who seek to take an outbound trip, door-to-door services will be available for groups of over 10 people. Travel agencies are allowed to arrange visas for their customers.
Green channels
For Jilin tourists who lost their visas while travelling abroad, identity checks will take only two days if they can provide correct identity information, the visa number, the visa issue date and a recent photo. The green channel for identity checks will also be opened to their relatives when any emergency occurs to them.
For foreigners applying for a visa extension in Jilin, face to face inquiries will replace complex application documents. Individual visas can be issued for group tourists who have to postpone their trip and cannot travel with the group.
Visa application services
People who want to travel to Hunchun, a frontier city bordering both Russia and North Korea, can now receive their visa quickly and enjoy faster customs clearance by joining a tourist group. The only thing needed is the personal identity card.
Visas can also be issued in advance if application documents are handed to the government through the Jilin Internet and Public Security platform.
Human-based services
Safety instruction services will be provided to both Chinese and foreign tourists through online platforms, including the official Wechat account of the Jilin Exit-Entry Department and the Waikebang (外客帮) app. Safety instruction cards will also be available for foreigners in places like airports and train stations.
Hotels will be requested to verify and correct information of their customers within 24 hours, with the help of the Exit-Entry Department.
