The China-Northeast Asia Expo -- which has been held for 12 seasons since 2005 in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province -- got international recognition from the Paris-based Global Association of the Exhibition Industry in February.
That’s according to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jilin Provincial Committee which said that both the committee and the expo received membership and approval from the association, which is also known as the UFI.
They are the first event and organization to receive UFI approval and the UFI Membership Certificate in Jilin province.
UFI is the only international non-governmental organization in the world exhibition industry. Established in 1925, it plays an important role in promoting the development and prosperity of the global exhibition industry.
Jilin officials said that receiving UFI approval and becoming UFI member can not only provide professional communications platforms for exhibition industry organizations and personnel, but also greatly increases the international influence of the exhibitions -- and accelerates innovation and the sustainable development of the exhibition itself.
The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jilin Provincial Committee started its application for UFI approval in 2017. Following more than two years of preparations, the China-Northeast Asia Expo passed the preliminary review and the final review at the end of 2019 and early 2020, respectively.
