Changchun auto city races ahead with high-speed development

Changchun international automobile city -- located in the Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province -- is currently under rapid development, according to reports in the Changchun Daily.
Officials said that in the month of May alone, the zone achieved total industrial output value of 55.29 billion yuan ($7.81 billion), a year-on-year increase of 50.33 percent.
Zone officials said that in the first five months the year, the total industrial output value of its manufacturers above a designated size -- those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more -- saw a year-on-year increase of 2.16 percent, up 11.37 percentage points compared with the first four months.
They added that construction of major projects at Changchun international automobile city in the zone has increasingly sped up -- with the launch and start of construction of a new energy intelligent network innovation pilot base project for Chinese automaker FAW, the Linglong Tire project and the new energy vehicle factory project for FAW-Hongqi.
With continuous settlement of major projects there, the automobile city is leading the high-quality development of Changchun, according to officials.
