China's Jilin, Finland seek trade on multiple fronts
A conference on commerce and trade between Northeast China's Jilin province and the Scandinavian nation of Finland was held on Dec 16 in Changchun, capital city of Jilin province.
It set forth plans to carry out business and exchanges in the winter sports industry, clean energy, information technology and in other fields.
Wang Tingkai, vice-governor of Jilin province and Jarno Syrjala, Finnish ambassador to China, attended the conference and gave speeches.
Wang said that Jilin is currently striving to transform itself into an important window of China's opening to the north and a hub for Northeast Asian regional cooperation.
And the province is trying to deeply integrate within the Belt and Road Initiative.
He pointed out that Jilin and Finland have a good foundation for further cooperation and development. The two sides should give full play to their unique advantages, further expanding the scope and scale of cooperation.
Jilin will continue to provide a fair, open and transparent investment environment, providing guaranteed services for foreign-funded companies.
Ambassador Syrjala said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 70 years ago, China and Finland have established a deep foundation for cooperation in economic, cultural and non-governmental exchanges.
