International ice, snow industry expo opens in Jilin

The opening ceremony for the 5th Jilin International Ice & Snow Industry Exposition, the 8th Annual Meeting of China's Tourism Industry, as well as the 24th Changchun Ice & Snow Festival, was held on Dec 26 in Changchun -- capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province.
It marked the start of a series of exciting activities in the province.
At present, nine main activities and 10 Winter Olympics themed activities are being staged in succession and nearly 300 ice and snow culture, tourism, sports, commerce, education and other activities have also been launched in the province.
The total exhibition area of this year's ice and snow expo is 100,000 square meters, including 60,000 sq m of indoor space.
There are 3,448 standard stalls in seven pavilions. In addition, the outdoor exhibition area totals 40,000 sq m and the organizers have set up in five major activity areas.
As the only ice and snow-themed expo established in China to date, the event has been held four times since 2016.
It is a large and influential flagship for the ice and snow tourism industry in Northeast China, with a cumulative exhibition area for the expo to date of nearly 420,000 sq m, more than 1,500 participating brands, 466,000 visits and 852 million yuan ($130 million) of on-site transactions.
