A ceremony marking the launch of the annual Employment Assistance Month was held on Jan 6 in Changchun, the capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province. It was the first activity to be held during the month-long event.

During the launch activity, 16 enterprise representatives presented 304 carefully selected employment positions to Changchun residents who have had difficulties finding a job. A total of 216 residents reached tentative employment agreements with on-site enterprises.

More than 460 enterprises participated in online recruitment activities in conjunction with the offline event, providing more than 8,300 job positions. Nearly 7,000 people consulted job information online during the event.

Also, booths for employment policy consultation, entrepreneurship loan services, training project promotion and contract negotiations have been set up to help people who are having trouble finding employment.

During the month-long event, human resources and social security departments at all levels will continue to focus on various measures to increase employment.
