Auto project launched in Changchun to promote green travel

A major auto industry project called "Qi E Chuncheng", aimed at promoting green approaches to travel as well as pushing for progress in the development of the provincial auto industry, was officially launched on March 1 in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.
At present, Jilin is taking steps to support China FAW Group Corporation as it becomes a world-class enterprise, supporting Changchun as it becomes a world-class automobile city, and vigorously cultivating a modern automobile industry ecology that is electrified, intelligent, networked, and shared.
The project will accelerate the promotion of new energy customized vehicles and improve related supporting facilities. It will also promote the construction of demonstration sites for the electrification of public transportation vehicles.
It will strive to launch 34,000 new energy taxis and official business vehicles within three years, reach the level of 41,000 batteries circulating in the "battery bank", and promote the annual consumption of 700 million kilowatt-hours of green power.
