Zhu Shizeng, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has been following the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry for many years.
According to Zhu, traditional Chinese medicine is an important carrier of Chinese culture. The export of Chinese medicine to the world can improve human health while enhancing the influence of Chinese culture, he said, allowing more people to understand Chinese culture.
Zhu said that it is necessary to reform and improve the education system, and pass on the culture, theories and academic research of traditional Chinese medicine to practitioners in related fields, so as to cultivate qualified talents.
At the same time, education about traditional Chinese medicine should be promoted all over the world, he said, and popular Chinese medicine textbooks should be compiled for publication in various languages.
"To promote Chinese medicine to the world, it is necessary to establish a system and mechanism suitable to effectively export Chinese medicine talents on a large scale," Zhu said.
